Battambang: As the floodwaters receded from the upper part of the Bassac reservoir in Rukkiri district, the water continued to flood Maung Russey district, affecting nearly 500 houses as well as rice and mixed crops. Other ten kilometers of roads have also been affected by the heavy rains.

Governor of Maung Russey District Tep Horn has confirmed on Thursday that in recent days the floods covering Maung Russey’s area have been affecting parts of Chrey and Talas communes, while hundreds of hectares of farmers' houses, roads and rice fields were also severely affected.

The district governor has also called on residents in Maung Russey district to be extra vigilant as the floodwaters haven’t shown no sign of receding.
